About Us

A registered voluntary org. affiliated to Hemophilia Federation, India. The society was formed in 1992, without any aid from the govt., to serve persons with hemophilia in and around bangalore.


The goals of our society are :

  • To locate persons with hemophilia or PWHs in Karnataka and to establish communication amongst them.

  • To help PWHS understanding their problem fully in relation to the cause, nature and management of Hemophilia.

  • To provide genetic counselling to the parents to reduce the incidence.

  • To provide counselling to all PWHs and their families.

  • To spread public awareness for speedy treatment to affected persons.

  • To promote voluntary blood donations and make safe blood products available.

  • To conduct workshops, clinics, camps and seminars to disseminate knowledge in the field of hemphilia care.

  • To provide financial help to poor patients.

  • To explore possibilities of financial and other help from Government, Organizations, Business establishments, Voluntary and Charitable bodies and General public.


Successful lobbying with the Government  has resulted  in  all the PWH’s below poverty line,  getting free factor through designated Govt hospitals  throughout Karnataka. (Bangalore, Mysore, Davangere, Raichur, Gulbarga, Mangalore , Hassan.)

About Rs.3 crores (Rs 30 million) worth of factor has been allocated for the above.

Ms. Ranjana Ramchander, General Secretary, Dr.Cecil Ross, Medical Advisor of the Hemophilia Society and Prof.Kalam, Director St.Johns Hospital discussing with Mr. Basavaraj, Commissioner and other officials of the govt. in connection with setting up of Comprehensive Hemophilia Care Centres in Govt. hospitals.
